
The Second International Conference CALT: Creative Approaches to Learning and Teaching will be held at the Faculty of Education in Osijek on April 17 and 18, 2026.
The conference aims to bring together all experts and scientists whose work is aimed at questioning the traditional and contemporary views of creativity and promoting new approaches in learning and teaching in which the emphasis is placed on creative activity and expression.
The conference will also deal with the following issues:
- Transdisciplinarity, ethics, and creativity in education
- Embodiment and dialogue in creative learning
- Multiple creativities: educational policies, practices, and research
- The role of the arts in student development and transitions across the educational continuum
- Teacher practice, identity, and competences in arts education
- Educational creativities in the context of social change and global challenges
- Creativity in initial teacher education and professional development
- Participatory and innovative research methodologies in the field of creativity

The conference will include a student forum, encompassing student lectures, workshops, exhibitions and artistic performances.
The official languages of the conference are Croatian and English.
The authors may submit proposals for oral presentations, workshops, or posters. It is possible to present a maximum of two papers per author. Participants should apply via the application form, submitting an abstract in Croatian and English (up to 300 words) and keywords (up to five). The summary should highlight the main topic and purpose of the paper and briefly present the methodology used, results and conclusion. The conference programme committee will evaluate the abstracts with regard to expertise, quality, originality and appropriateness to the given topic. The expected duration of the oral presentation is 20 minutes. Poster presentations have no time limit, and workshops can last 60-90 minutes. Abstracts of all accepted papers will be published in the Conference Abstract Book.

General Programme
Friday, 17 April 2026
The conference opens at the Cultural Centre Osijek with registration from 9:00, followed by the Opening Ceremony at 10:00 and keynote talks by Dimitra Kokotsaki and Kerry Chappell. In the afternoon, the programme continues at the Faculty of Education with the presentation of a scientific monograph, parallel sessions, the Student Forum and an evening concert of young composers at 18:30.
Saturday, 18 April 2026
The second conference day takes place at the Faculty of Education and includes parallel sessions, the Student Forum, poster presentations, exhibitions, workshops, a keynote talk by Jelena Martinović Bogojević and "Coffee with a Professor" with Pamela Burnard at 12:00. The conference concludes with the Closing Ceremony at 15:00.
